Outlook App opening a browser Tab

While using the Outlook App on Windows 10, Creating a new event in Calendar, and ONLY when selecting Invite Attendees button, Outlook will open a tab in my browser that does nothing but have the outlook logo.

    I was having the same issue with one particular user. I downloaded and ran demo Malwarebytes version, and it removed a setting in the users Chrome - User Data - Default - Preferences folder. After that setting was eliminated, no more pop-up browser page when Outlook starts.

    Thanks for the reply. I tried this but MB didn't find anything to change. Any idea what setting it was? Also, I'm looking in Chrome's settings and don't see "User Data - Default - Preferences". Is this a Windows folder area or Chrome settings?

    We use MS Edge, but it's built on Chrome's engine, so this may be the clue that I need. Thank you for any further input!

    As of build Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2211 Build 16.0.15831.20098) 64-bit this issue no longer affects the calendar selection... Now every time we open the outlook desktop app, it launches the web version. This is happening immediately the Outlook Desktop app is opened.

    Out of 15 users, I have one experiencing the browser opening when she starts her Outlook Desktop app (we never experienced the calendar issue). It's very consistent in that she can open/close Outlook and it happens every time. It's like a behind-the-scenes login process that's being displayed with no login prompts, just the animated mail icon you might see after successfully loggin in. She's been getting it for many weeks now. We're on the same version (Version 2211 Build 16.0.15831.20098). I've attached the browser URL that's displays at that time. The obfuscation is her login account.
