This has been an issue for a while. I'm using Outlook as part of Office 365 on my desktop, Dell XPS 8950. While writing an email, all of sudden, text disappears or gets distorted (e.g., some part of the text is shown and the other part is not). After scrolling up and down the mouse wheel, it usually returns to normal.
I've searched for a solution and found almost all suggested solutions say that I need to disable "overtype mode" as below. However, both options were already unchecked but the issue does not go away.

I just managed to fix this with the latency mode setting in the Nvidia control panal. I have also noticed that it is very bad when running at 144Hz but less at 120Hz refresh rate before the Nvidia control panal fix thing. could it be something to do with heigher refrese rates?

Interesting enough I was running the iGPU on the 14700k for about 2 weeks as this was a new build and was waiting on the Nvidia to come out/ship. Did not have the issue until I popped in the dedicated card.
I did notice a lot of forums made it seem like the defaults were to be set to "on", though the Nvidia dashboard has the default to "off". Maybe it's AMD who set's the default to on for their version.
An observation I had after turning on the mode, the CPU likes to keep at least one core in boost ~5.4Ghz, whereas before it would rest way down ~1.3Ghz at times. Utilization appears to be the same and temps haven't gone up. Then again, I have an oversized cooler on it and don't overclock so my system may not be a good gauge on any temp increases.
Protecting them with excuses won't do anything to encourage them to fix the problem. They should not be shielded for their lackluster product support. Microsoft Office is the only product that has this problem and it's only newer versions of Microsoft Office so obviously they're not doing something correct and they started doing something differently than they used to. They removed the ability to disable hardware acceleration in the Office suite, which may have yielded a simple fix, so there is that example. Less desirable competing products from openoffice.org, Corel and LiberOffice do not have this issue, and we would not have this issue if they cared enough to fix it. It is unfortunate we have to find workarounds because of their incompetence. If it were a common problem affecting other software products it might be appropriate to not blame them for it, but it stands alone as the only one.
Hello, I was the individual who posted the original question. The final resolve for me was to remove the drivers that were provided via either Geforce web site (when I had an Nvidia card installed), and from AMD's site when i tried installing one of their cards to resolve the issue. I let windows install the default stable version(s) that is installed through Windows Update, No more issues. I am not a gamer, so I don't need all of the tweaks that come with the latest versions of the drivers.
I respectfully disagree. It would be nearly impossible for Microsoft to keep up with the changes that constantly come across in every video card driver (I know mine update twice a week sometimes) - and the problem doesn't seem to occur with static drivers or integrated video. In my experience since the original post - updating the video driver or software usually resolves the issue.
