This is conceivable. I've been using Apple and iCloud for the last 15 years. For some time I wanted to check how to work on WIN 11. For mail and contacts, I chose Outlook in 365.

Something bad happened in the contact database and I had to delete them all to upload new ones. I had almost 3000 of them and now attention:

To do this, you need to delete them with 10 pcs. !

Then, to delete them from the deleted folder, you need to delete with 50 pcs.

It is unlikely that it lacks such basic features that have been present for a long time in google and iCloud.

Can anyone answer the question why this is so?

Wow, leave it to microsoft to take a giant step backwards with their horrendous implementations. The dev team deserves some steam over this one.

This is a "feature" of Outlook Web Access now. It will also happen to you on the desktop if you flip the "use New Outlook" button on the desktop.

Come on Microsoft. I can't think of why you added this "protection" except that you must thing we are all dummies.

I have just wasted a lot of time checking all my obsolete or duplicate email contacts. Now I cannot delete them! Ridiculous. My solution: Forget about Outlook Mail and go back to Thunderbird and/or Gmail.

    I tried this technique:

    1. Open your contact list in Microsoft 365 Outlook.
    2. Click on the first contact at the top of the list to select it.
    3. Scroll down to the last contact you want to include in your deletion.
    4. Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard, then click the last contact. This action selects all contacts between the first and last one you clicked.
    5. Now, with the contacts selected, you can delete them. Note that attempting to select all contacts at once without using this method may not permit deletion.
    6. This technique allows for the deletion of multiple contacts—up to 35 at a time in my experience—more efficiently than selecting each contact individually for deletion.
