This is conceivable. I've been using Apple and iCloud for the last 15 years. For some time I wanted to check how to work on WIN 11. For mail and contacts, I chose Outlook in 365.

Something bad happened in the contact database and I had to delete them all to upload new ones. I had almost 3000 of them and now attention:

To do this, you need to delete them with 10 pcs. !

Then, to delete them from the deleted folder, you need to delete with 50 pcs.

It is unlikely that it lacks such basic features that have been present for a long time in google and iCloud.

Can anyone answer the question why this is so?

    I can't believe how long this issue has been out there. I need the web version to delete hundreds of contacts.

    Good idea, but this only works for the local contacts folder in the local OST file. It does not work with Outlook on the web.

    And it's easy to select all and delete the local contacts.

    I have multiple computers linked to the same account, and I also use gSyncit to sync with Google.

    I've already deleted all local contacts texts and now trying to get the web cotacts to go away. Then I'll let everything sync up again...

    Not true. As soon as I select more than 10 contacts, both the delete button and delete link are grayed out...

    Worse, It requires a "shift-click" to select 10 contacts at once, then TWO MORE clicks to delete them (because of confirm click).

    Try doing that 100 times for 1000 contacts.....

    VERY annoying.

    I am trying reset my entire contact list from both Outlook and Google and it has been a real pain.

    I experienced the same problem. I resolved this by using MS Access.

    • Create a new Microsoft Access database
    • Select "External Data" from the menu
      • Click "New Data Source"
      • Choose "From Other Sources"
      • Choose "Outlook Folder"
    • Select "Link to the data source by creating a linked table"
    • Then select "Contacts" under your email address
    • Click "Finish"

    The "Contacts" table is added to the database. From there, you can delete all, or pick and choose what you want to delete or modify.

    As of November 2023 you can't delete manually more than 10 contacts at once using web interface.

    You have two options:

    1. Sync your contacts withy MS Outlook from MS Office and delete them from MS Outlook. This approach worked one year ago when I tested it last time.
    2. Use my Python3 program that deletes contacts from Microsoft Exchange Server that hosts ******@outlook.com and ******@hotmail.com accounts

    If you have your own Exchange server or your own domain, use your own credentials.
