IMAP support for NEW Outlook for Windows

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

 

Upon reading the description you have posted, it seems that you have an issue with Microsoft Office 365 wherein you want to know if when will be the IMAP emails added on the New Outlook for Windows as you have noticed that iCloud accounts is now already added and supported.

We understand, that you are quite looking forward for the other IMAP emails to be also added and supported by the New Outlook version.

However, we would like to let you know that the New Outlook for Windows supports Exchange-backed Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, Outlook.com accounts, and Gmail.

Currently, the new Outlook for Windows does not support other account types like Yahoo!, iCloud, or other account types connecting through POP/IMAP protocols. New Outlook for Windows also does not currently support On-Premises, Hybrid, or Sovereign Exchange deployments.

If you can’t add your Gmail account yet, please be patient as we roll this out to people worldwide. Users will see a call out when the ability to add a Gmail account is available for them.

In addition to beginning to support third-party email accounts, we have added features designed to make writing and managing emails easier and more fun. Some of those include:

• Rich editing, spelling, and auto complete suggestions powered by Microsoft Editor.
• The ability to send emails with polls to help make decisions quicker. (Work and School accounts only)
• Delay the delivery of an email for up to 10 seconds so you have a chance to “undo” sending – always an excellent feature if you have a typo or accidentally forgot someone on an  email – or just want to make a few quick changes.
• The ability to join a Skype or Teams call directly from the new Outlook for Windows.
• The ability to pin important emails to the top of your inbox – helping ensure you don’t forget to follow up on those most important messages.

Then why do you keep shoving the "switch to new outlook" links down our throats.
Without IMAP, anyone wanting to email from their domain is just out of luck.

Unfortunately the account data is not imported correctly and there is no way of correcting the wrong port,...

If I got you correctly, yes. I first added the information for incoming and outgoing email servers with the user names, passwords, ports and server domains. After that I changed the security level to none and then the button was activated (still keeping the SSL option selected).

Yes, but you can change the username with different options for imap and smtp?
