Outlook asks to save when closing appointments without any change

When I open any appointment in outlook Calendar I have to save it before closing if I have locked my PC in between. Even If I did not change anything (applies to any invite also empty freshly created ones and also applies when outlook is started in safe mode + also applies on different PC / different account)

  2. Put laptop to lock mode (windows key + L)
  3. Log in again
  4. Click the 'X' icon to close the appointment
  5. Outlook will pop up an alert box "Want to save your changes? Disabling the weather information, scaling equal, new profile did not help for me, any idea how to solve this?

    I found this solution online and it seems to work for me: Disable the social connector COM add-in.

    Thanks for you input - but the end-user shouldn't expect to have to all of these adjustments, modifications. Outlook updates are frequent enough where Microsoft could include a correction to one of those to rectify this. Please submit an Outlook update request for this.

    Is there a way to get a Microsoft representative to listen to us? This second stream of posts that I have followed and neither has a solution. Agree with all that is a) very annoying and b) potentially dangerous when one gets on autopilot, ignoring every warning as we are so used to these non-sensical warning.

    This is how the issue looks for me:

    • When I open an appointment and close it, I don't get the prompt to save the changes.
    • When I open an appointment that has a link to "Join the meeting now" and then subsequently try to close the appointment, Outlook is asking me to save the change.

    The actual change that it is causing the prompt is the change in the color of the link to join the meeting. It changes from this:

    ... to this:

    This is pretty annoying as this should not be considered a "change" in the appointment.

    I just closed an email draft and did not save it because I am meanwhile trained to close everything without checking when I am closing Outlook.

    Even if the bug will be fixed, a billion of wrong conditioned Outlook users will keep on being wrong conditioned and do the same till they pass away.

    Thank you Microsoft for nothing.
