Outlook asks to save when closing appointments without any change

When I open any appointment in outlook Calendar I have to save it before closing if I have locked my PC in between. Even If I did not change anything (applies to any invite also empty freshly created ones and also applies when outlook is started in safe mode + also applies on different PC / different account)

  2. Put laptop to lock mode (windows key + L)
  3. Log in again
  4. Click the 'X' icon to close the appointment
  5. Outlook will pop up an alert box "Want to save your changes? Disabling the weather information, scaling equal, new profile did not help for me, any idea how to solve this?

NOTE: There is still no solution / fix for this issue

    Dear Fnurk...

    the level of patience you have for the kind of responses you are getting from this forum is admirable. I just read all these threads hoping for a comment like:

    " I was able to reproduce the bug" , "we have located the source" , "you need to do this".

    Unfortunately I will keep looking.

    Sometime ago it had gone away in my computer because of some "extensions" that I had disabled, now the dreaded message is back therefore here I am. Maybe I will keep looking for extensions as keyword and see if I find the fix.

    It is dumbfounding how many people have this problem and how long it has persisted. There is not even an explanation as to what is causing it never mind the fix.

    What do I need to do to get attention on this? Fly a banner in the skies over Redmond, WA?

    I have to echo what Funk says here. Plus, this issue has been outstanding with every version of Outlook I've used for the last 15 years or more.

    Some quirk about "state change tracking" in either Windows or Outlook (or both) must be causing the problem.

    Either no one at Microsoft has been able to get to the root cause in 15 years or, more likely, the issue is so fundamentally deep in the code that changing it is either impossible or not worth the risk to other operations that depend upon the "state change tracking" functions.

    Same issue for years now here as well.

    I've taskkilled outlook in the past to make them go away vs having to constantly close one... click NO, close the next one, click NO over and over and over again.

    In my years of using outlook, this is one of the Rage inducing issues that has confounded me for years. Since this is a recent thread on this, I'm posting my two cents.

    Please do not prompt me to save changes to any calendar entry that I've opened when there have been no changes after my PC has been locked.

    also tried these:

    A: no result if i uncheck or change minutes also if i restart outlook no difference

    B: already done this as mentioned in my original post, but no improvement

    C1: done but no improvement

    C2: I don't have skype so don't have that folder...

    Any other suggestions? Please note: I think this important! --> I only experience this when i lock my pc in between, not when I open and close it...
