Outlook asks to save when closing appointments without any change

see my feedback for each suggestion, none unfortunately did resolve theissue

1A not applicable, for web client, thats a totally different interface and there is no "x" to close it (you have to select delete or save)

1B safe mode issue still persist as already mentioned in my post

1C new profile also did not solve it

2. Tried this before and set it both to 100% but issue still persists
3. not applicable, its for every meeting even withouth links or any body test... just opening it and closing it won't show the message, however locking your machine in between will trigger the pop up
4. tried this before but did not solve the issue

any other suggestions or diagnostics steps i can undetake? my outlook version is updated in my original post

and by the way: i've tried this on my colleagues outlook as well, and the same issue over there... so its not related to my PC only...

i think you misunderstood indeed, you create a new appointment, and start opening other calendars, thats not the case in my example, let me rephrase again:

1. Open your own Outlook calendar, and open any existing appointment in your own calendar by double clicking on the appointment (screen pops up with the appointment and details, don't click anything else)
2. Put laptop to lock mode (windows key + L)
3. Log in again
4. Click the 'X' icon to close the appointment
5. Outlook will pop up an alert box "Want to save your changes? Yes | No | Cancel " and the user has to select something.

ok great that you are able to reproduce it. the issue is indeed in the first test only, just my own calendar. During a normal workday you open invites to check for details often and lock your pc quite regular. Clicking through all these prompts is therefore quite annoying. Please help me in raising this ticket as a bug within Microsoft Outlook engineering teams and drive for a fix asap!

I am sorry to say it, but this is so frustrating. I am surprised that Microsoft is taking so long to identify and fix this bug. I have seen it on every computer that I use for about the last 10 years.

The frustration is both the issue itself, but also the way that Microsoft is addressing the issue. I see the same basic questions every time instead of just having an experienced person who already is familiar with the problem dive in and fix it.

Microsoft can spend billions on ChatGPT, but they have to remember that Outlook likely is one of the most important tools for many desk workers today.

It is not all bad. I really like Microsoft, I have been using your software since MS-DOS in 1985. We just need your help getting this fixed.

My colleagues and I have also been annoyed on a daily basis by this same issue of asking to confirm any changes when trying to close a calendar invite that was simply read and not edited. So there is still no solution to correct it?
