Workaround for Outlook.com users experiencing duplicate Contacts after enabling Contact Sync in Teams App

If you are a Microsoft personal account user and have either Teams and Outlook apps installed (and Contact sync enabled in both) or the Phone Link installed, you might observe duplicate contacts in Outlook due to a recent issue with contact synchronization. You can use the below workaround to remove the device synced contacts and all the duplicates created by this issue. 

How to Delete Device Contacts Sub-Folder1. Go to Teams App on your mobile device (iOS or Android).1. Click on your Profile Icon Home and navigate to Settings and People. ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/afbf6db3-0eb0-4476-af64-0923ac9dbbc2?platform=QnA device contacts in Outlook will be automatically deleted in a few days.

  • We will publish an update once the fix is available, after which users can re-enable the “Sync my device contacts” toggle in Teams.

    I too have not been able to access my hotmail account today. I have been trying for the past 3 hours and always get the same

    error message 500:

    500 Something went wrong. An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled.

    I have refreshed the page, deleted cookies and cache, logged out, nothing is helping.

    Very frustrating. Don't know what to do now.

    I have no Hotmail access. I keep getting Error 500 and a suggestion to refresh the app. It does not work.

    All of a sudden today June 25, 2023, I cannot get into my Hotmail account on my PC. I can login to my Microsoft account but when choosing the Outlook icon, I get 500 error, Something went wrong... other weird details like X-OWA-Error System.MissingMethodException......

    The Workaround mentioned only talks about Teams app on IOS or Android. I do NOT have that app on my android phone nor on my PC. Useless workaround that is irrelevant.

    My email Hotmail access on my PC worked on June 23. My Hotmail email seems to still work on my android phone but not on the PC. HOW TO FIX THIS???
