How to change download destination in "New Outlook" (May 2023)

I recently switched over to try the "New Outlook". In the older layout version of Outlook, when downloading an attachment I had multiple options on how that attachment could be saved to my computer. The main option I utilized was simply " Save As". In the "New Outlook" version, that option is no longer there. Is there a way to customize the options you see when downloading an attachment? Here are the options it gives:

  • Preview

-Edit in Browser

-Edit in Excel desktop app (it was an excel file in this case)

-Save to OneDrive

-Download

The old options would have:

-Preview

-Open

-Quick Print

-Save As

Save All Attachments

-Upload

-Remove Attachment

-Copy

-Select All

Really looking for the "Save As" option so I can navigate to the final destination folder.

    Yep, Its not available and a real pain.

    I have changed my print function to print to pdf.

    When I click print it auto wants to print to PDF and on completion ask for the selected folder.

    This is the fastest way I know to down load to a preferred location.

    Thanks for the detailed description Hiroyuki.
    However, that doesn't work for me (and presumably for the thousands of others carping here about the lost feature)...running the desktop app on either Win10 or Win11 PC.
    Perhaps you have a different setup?

    No, simply copying / dragging into the folder does not work either.

    The current "solution" is simply totally inefficient for people who have to work with lots of files in every mail and all the time. It turns one hour into 3 hours of work. Good for those who need occupational therapy. I don't need it. Absolute garbage.

    1. Open the folder where you want to save the file in Explorer.
    2. Drag the attachment file from Outlook to Explorer.

    That's all.

    You should probably explain exactly how this feature is working for you...because it's not for thousands of other users ;-)

    1. Open the folder where you want to save the file in Explorer.
    2. Drag the attachment file from Outlook to Explorer.

    That's all.

    (For Dennis)

    1. Click windows start button
    2. Enter text "File Explorer." (yellow folder icon)
    3. Click enter
    4. open the folder where you want to save the file in Explorer.
    5. go to New Outlook application
    6. Open email that has attachment file you want to save.
    7. Drag the file icon in the mail (holding down the left mouse button)
    8. Move it to the file explorer
    9. Release your finger from the mouse while over the folder you want to move to.

    DONE!
