I recently switched over to try the "New Outlook". In the older layout version of Outlook, when downloading an attachment I had multiple options on how that attachment could be saved to my computer. The main option I utilized was simply " Save As". In the "New Outlook" version, that option is no longer there. Is there a way to customize the options you see when downloading an attachment? Here are the options it gives:
-Edit in Browser
-Edit in Excel desktop app (it was an excel file in this case)
-Save to OneDrive
-Download
The old options would have:
-Preview
-Open
-Quick Print
-Save As
Save All Attachments
-Upload
-Remove Attachment
-Copy
-Select All
Really looking for the "Save As" option so I can navigate to the final destination folder.

Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

This is awful. I can no longer download by default to my computer. This has doubled the time it takes to scan and download docs and I have tons of docs to load. It happened in the past and got corrected. Please rectify this bumble.
I'm on Windows 11 - maybe my company has a different contract with MS or something. I'm sure I'll get this function eventually.
I also noticed New Outlook and the online Word app don't have the Quick Access Toolbar! I use that a LOT in Outlook Classic, Word and my other Office programs.

Wow, that's wild...☹ Sorry that you're still suffering the bad behavior.
Only somebody at MS would know why my UI is different than yours (I'm running a Win 10 PC here, by the way, but I've also tested on a Win11 machine with same result.)
This is my attachment handling UI:
FWIW on my machines not necessary to open the drop-down to access the preview--a single direct click on the attachment accomplishes that ;-)
The above is an addition to good ole drag-and-drop-to-desktop functionality.
As of 7/1/2024, I can't drag and drop, or save/download an attachment directly from the email to my desktop.
From the dropdown menu on the attachment in the email:
I can Preview the document and I have a few options there
I can open an Office file in the browser or desktop app, and after navigating around a bit I can save it on my desktop.
I can save it to OneDrive and it goes somewhere that I need to go find.
From the main email dropdown, I can open it in the browser or desktop app the same as above.
I can also select Copy, and then I can paste that attachment into another email - I can't paste it on my desktop.
Non-Office files (PDFs, graphics) have fewer options.
NEWSFLASH?
Using the New Outlook for desktop today, and attachment Drag-n-Drop is now working again! (?)
Is that true for everybody following this thread?

@jeff Presumably you know that in the New Outlook, if you click an attachment (you don't need to open the email message to activate this--it works from the reading pane), a large preview opens next to the mail message? I actually prefer this method of reviewing attachments: it does not obscure the email, thus preserving the direct Drag-n-Drop method, while offering a dedicated "Download" button in addition.
