How to change download destination in "New Outlook" (May 2023)

I recently switched over to try the "New Outlook". In the older layout version of Outlook, when downloading an attachment I had multiple options on how that attachment could be saved to my computer. The main option I utilized was simply " Save As". In the "New Outlook" version, that option is no longer there. Is there a way to customize the options you see when downloading an attachment? Here are the options it gives:

  • Preview

-Edit in Browser

-Edit in Excel desktop app (it was an excel file in this case)

-Save to OneDrive

-Download

The old options would have:

-Preview

-Open

-Quick Print

-Save As

Save All Attachments

-Upload

-Remove Attachment

-Copy

-Select All

Really looking for the "Save As" option so I can navigate to the final destination folder.

    I agree with comments left by other people. The download option is arguably the most important one. It is unbelievable that MS missed, and what is even more unbelievable is you haven't corrected this by now.

    Also with every forced windows update you automatically switch to new outlook, and users have to manually opt out again. Simply unbelievable.

    Yes, I became so frustrated I just went back to the old version too. I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but you used to be able to drag a file to a folder of your choice. That's a common time saving feature. Saving it in a place i don't want my files to go to, then moving them to another was costing me time. I'll wait until I "have" to use it .. and if the features are not fixed I'll look at my options then. There were other issues too that didn't make sense. Make the old version better .. don't take away useful older features.

    The New Outlook is pretty weird.

    The search functionality doesn't work as robustly either.

    Can't download as a Save as - or it rams everything together as a zip file.

    Yep pretty rubbish. I've reverting back.

    I am surprised Microsoft did not default the download location to the OneDrive folder instead of Downloads to attempt to force one to use OneDrive.

    I love everything but that feature. My workaround is to download it to your PC, cut the download and place it in the folder you wish it to be in
