How to change download destination in "New Outlook" (May 2023)

I use Print to PDF to save wherever I want to. It's the only way to get around the lack of a Save-As in the drop down menu. If you don't have Print to PDF as a "printer" option, then sorry you will have to download everything and then go file it from the download folder. But if you do have print to pdf, use that to save it where you want.

The platform-wide (at least all clients, on all devices that I use) default behavior of documents saving to (personal) OneDrive rather than the organization SharePoint Library is a daily source of frustration that I never understood.

First, let me say I like the new Outlook. I think it's a job well-done. It takes some getting used to & as stated, it is still in the development stage. It has a cleaner & more simplified GUI. Some of the old Outlook things are there; you just have to find them.

To send feedback, do we turn on "Experiences that analyze your content" or "Experiences that download online content"? Both of these seem like we're allowing collection information we might not want disclosed.

Can you forward this as feedback to the development team?

I found where downloaded files go, so that works until desired folder options are implemented.

Getting an email to print is a vast improvement.

I would like to mark & block spam. The old Outlook rules did little to stop spam. Even reporting them to my ISP did nothing to stop them.

I haven't found the Send/Receive button, but my mail does come & go quickly. Is it even needed anymore?

Some old Outlook problems that are gone:

Disappearing & reappearing folders. I couldn't delete folders under the Inbox. They would come back immediately. Once I logged into my mail on a web browser & deleted them, they were gone.

Setting up an IMAP email that connected to ATT & required an OAUTH key was a real pain. Old Outlook changed sometime around August, 2023, & I could no longer enter that key or a password when adding a new IMAP email source. You had to open the Mail in Control Panel & do it that way. Even then, the server setting & others were difficult to master. The New Outlook didn't have a problem connecting to the ATT email client. I don't even remember if it gave me a chance to enter all the necessary settings. It just worked! Maybe it somehow used the old Outlook settings without me knowing it?

I hope we no longer have to repair or compact PST & OST files.

I have an IT background & sometimes I like to look under the hood to understand & resolve stuff. I don't want to do that anymore; I just want Microsoft products to work. The new Outlook seems to be doing that.

After various times turning the new look on and off to see if the "normal" file handling had been resumed (which as of 23/01/24 it hasn't), I found you post.

Never even considered that would be an option. Every day is a school day.
