I switched to the new outlook and it is no longer showing the total number of emails in each folder.

Ditto to what's been said already...and...this was a problem with the MAC New Outlook rollout back in October of 2020. It's been solved for MAC users, albeit not satisfactorily: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/inbox-email-count-in-new-outlook-for-mac/4b1d2cd7-1978-4a6c-9480-bf2706812300

This doesn't appear to have been corrected, right? I'd really love to be able to see my total email count.

This is not working fore me either, I right click but no "Preferences" option is available.

Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me as I often quickly read emails to review later, then I move them to a completed folder when done.

I absolutely need to know the number of emails in my folders in total, not just the unread. And changing everything to unread is a bit of an issue.
