New outlook not showing total email count in each folder on windows application

I am just trying the new outlook today for the first time. I see folder totals on Drafts, Deleted items and Junk Email but not any other folders. I have 100s of subfolders and find having the total number of mails in each useful. Why would you remove this functionality? It was first reported in April 2023 and nothing has been done. That does not bode well for the new version I think. Have people stuck with it or switched back?

I guess our dreams are a bit different? I really want unread in the INBOX, like is currently displayed in the old mail client, so I can see if anything new has come in for any email address. Seeing total number of emails in the folder over 10 years really doesn't mean much to me. Though I guess if you constantly delete email or move email to other folders after addressed, that could be meaningful.

Oh yeah, that's not much use if it's just your archive with a decade of old mails. I have 3 main folders. Action Required, Awaiting Response and Archive. The first is for me to do, the second is ones I'm waiting to hear back on and the third is the archive.

I like having a total for the first two so I have an overview of what's on my books at all times.

You know when a company is too big for its britches when customer service becomes dysfunctional. Microsoft has been that way for a generation. David Pogue in the New York Times would write in the late 1990s that he and others would post bugs in Microsoft Word, and every release would add new features but never fix the old bugs. I remember finding a bug in the Operating System. I called in to let them know, but for me to report it, I had to buy an enhanced service contract. Google has always been just as bad. Back fifteen years ago there was this bug: My name is "Antony Van der Mude" with no middle name. The autocomplete would, in its infinite wisdom, make my last name "Mude" and my middle name "Van der". I would manually fix it, only to have the system change it back in a week or so. I tried repeatedly to get a human to acknowledge my emails reporting this bug (you can't call customer service at Google) only to get in contact with a developer who accused me of being a troll. Fitbit is just as bad. One thing all of these companies do is to steer you to an email platform like this one, where you can take part in a **** session just like I am doing right this minute, where your complaints can be safely ignored. The only thing I get out of this is to vent my spleen. Heaven forfend that they actually fix things. This is a classic example of what Cory Doctorow calls enshittification.

This is what Im looking for. Count of total emails on the folder.

Just want one simple feature. In For Follow up, to show a count of total emails in the folder, NOT unread.

Flagged emails to show in For Follow up, and regardless if its read or not, show how many emails are in that folder.

If they wont give back this very basic feature, there has to be a registry fix to change "For Follow Up" search folder to show TOTAL COUNT, not unread.
