I switched to the new outlook and it is no longer showing the total number of emails in each folder.

I'll add my frustration here as well. This makes it hard to manage folders of read e-mails.

This problem applies for New Outlook for Mac, not Outlook for Windows.

I'm having the same problem. Each email folder shows how many unread messages there are, but not the total number of email in the folder. That feature went away with the transition to the "New Outlook" for Mac. I keep reverting to the old Outlook for Mac just because I need that function. Please bring it back.

Thanks -- I was unaware of this right-click feature, which is an acceptable substitute for the status bar message count I've come to depend on.

Right. It probably doesn't. In that case I guess it is two extra clicks to turn off conversation mode, and then turn it on again.

It wont work if you use conversation mode. It'll only count the individual, since the new outlook wont let you expand the converseation unless you choose a single mail.
