I switched to the new outlook and it is no longer showing the total number of emails in each folder.

I also have this problem in the new Outlook 2023. A temporary workaround that I use is to 1) Highlight one email (anyone) in the email folder (the Inbox for instance), and 2) press Ctrl+A to select all emails in that folder, and 3) hold down the Ctrl key and deselect one of the selected emails (anyone). Then Outlook shows the number of emails MINUS ONE in that email folder. So if there are 54 emails in my Inbox, Outlook would say "53 items selected".

I haven't seen this before - perhaps this is new. When I right click on a folder, Outlook now shows the number of emails in that folder.

I am also seeing this issue. My email updated last week and I no longer can see the total emails.

In addition to my reply above, It seems that you also can hover the folder name to see how many emails are in the folder.
