I switched to the new outlook and it is no longer showing the total number of emails in each folder.

Not the point. I just like to open my outlook inbox and simply see the overall number of emails in my inbox. A large number indicates that I’m losing control of my communications. So when the number gets high, I know I have work to do on my inbox…replying, deleting, filing, actioning, etc.

Exactly, all these people want to see the number of emails badge in the inbox (like it use to do) with multiple emails addresses but still after all this time and posts, Still not fixed!!!

Why launch a "new" product which is far worse than the one it is meant to replace (there are a number of features the New Outlook does not have such as the inability to assign Cntrl + **** + 1-4 to shortcuts, add shared in box to Favourites, with many more.

    One simple question: WHY, MICROSOFT???

It also is possible to set folders to show the total number of items rather than unread items in the old outlook which is how I manage my workflow. See below:

This is effectively a small dashboard that lets me see my outstanding actions across general categories. Hovering over each of the folders to see the number in them takes away any benefit of it being a quick glance status bar. This is something I'd strongly advocate for the return of as it is the sole reason I have not upgraded.

I am just trying the new outlook today for the first time. I see folder totals on Drafts, Deleted items and Junk Email but not any other folders. I have 100s of subfolders and find having the total number of mails in each useful. Why would you remove this functionality? It was first reported in April 2023 and nothing has been done. That does not bode well for the new version I think. Have people stuck with it or switched back?

Dear Microsoft, please bring back the status bar.

We have just began to upgrade to the new outlook and many users are frustrated about this simple feature missing.

    Best regards sysadm
