Outlook keeps opening multiple windows on macbook (macOS Monterey ver 12.4)

when I run outlook on my macbook air, it opens up multiple windows (up to 50) automatically. this in return freezes up my application.

i've tried to create a new account and reinstall outlook where it will run as expected for a few months and then it restarts to open up multiple windows.

this has been ongoing from running BigSur and now on Monterey.

    The fastest solution to this issue that worked for me:

    1. Force quit Outlook.
    2. Open Outlook again. Due to the force quit, no windows will be minimized.
    3. Click on one of the Outlook windows to focus on Outlook.
    4. Hold Cmd+W in while all windows automatically closes.

    Deleting ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.Microsoft.Outlook then CMD+W on each open Inbox window worked for me - thanks!

    I think I found another temporary solution on my MacBook Pro M1 running Ventura 13.5 and Outlook 16.76.2.

    I ran into this issue yesterday for the first time. This issue not only made Outlook unusable but also slowed down my Mac.

    Tried to close the windows one by one (using command + W) as some you suggested, but the windows froze up during the process and I wasn't able to finish the process (multiple times).

    The solution that worked for me:

    1. Tools --> Accounts -- remove the email account that you are receiving emails from (a Outlook Exchange account from my employer).
    2. Quit Outlook, restart Mac, Open Outlook again, re-add your email account, then the windows disappeared.
    3. You need set your email signatures again in Outlook.

    I had the same problem with multiple windows spawning. As mentioned, using either File > Close from the menu or Command W works to close the windows. But clicking on the red close icon does not. (At least for me)
