Outlook keeps opening multiple windows on macbook (macOS Monterey ver 12.4)

when I run outlook on my macbook air, it opens up multiple windows (up to 50) automatically. this in return freezes up my application.

i've tried to create a new account and reinstall outlook where it will run as expected for a few months and then it restarts to open up multiple windows.

this has been ongoing from running BigSur and now on Monterey.

    Hi, I have just upgrade ios from Big Sur to Monterey and this outlook problem has got worse. Now 100 windows open

    Microsoft you have to fix this. Outlook os now completely unusable on a mac

    Hello,

    this issue is appearing for the last days (40 tabs opened). Has this problem been addressed at microsoft already? Please provide a clear instructions on how to solve the issue.

    I have the same problem. Outlook opens up to 26 duplicate windows. In-app support is non-existent.

    • I've tried replacing the profile but that doesn't solve it.
    • The page linking to the Outlook Reset Preferences Tool provided above has been deleted, so that's useless.
    • I've deleted the folder in ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.Microsoft.Outlook.
    • I've prevented apps from remembering the windows they had open by choosing Apple menu  > System Preferences, clicking General, then selecting ”Close windows when quitting an app.”

    None of these solved the problem.

    I know right, it appears that many people are having this issue and many of them have tried what M/Soft recommends but it hasn't worked. In our country you can't talk to anyone at M/Sof any more, you have to go to their on-line help which just gives you the same solutions as everyone else has already tried. Its like being stuck in the twilight zone. Perhaps M/Soft don't want Mac users to use their Outlook product anymore or maybe Apple is glitching it so that we all have to use Mail instead of Outlook. Well for now Apple has won because Outlook is now totally unusable on my Mac and I have no option but to use Mail which is unfortunately a far lesser product.

    I have the same issue, hundreds of windows, 40GB usage and I cannot use outlook any more
