Hi,
I regularly send some emails in English and some in my native language - as most European business people do. In Outlook one language is always set as default spell checker language, but in the old Outlook I could always override this by setting spell checker individually for each message. It took some three clicks, but it was possible. In the new Outlook this option is gone (at least I could not find it) - only thing you can do now is to change default editor spell checking language! This is extremely unfortunate and a huge step back. Please return the option to switch spell checker language when composing the new message. Or even better make it more accessible than in the old Outlook.

Frankly, I don't care which department does what at Microsoft. We are in a quarter through the 21st Century but we still cannot switch the proofing language of Outlook. This feature used to be available in the past, so we are obviously going backwards.
My outlook has suddenly started spell checking for German
Its insane, the whole screen lights up red.. cant seem to find a fix

I couldn't agree more - also working in a bilingual environment (60% English, 40% Hungarian) I consider myself pretty literate in both languages however always ending up my full mail being marked with red. And that itself wouldn't frustrate me too much but resulting in not recognizing any mistyped words (that happens obviously every now and then); now THAT drives me absolutely nuts.
And yes, we're mid-2025, not the good ol' '80s.

To whom should I send an email with my dissatisfaction with the new Outlook? I have many 'shortcuts' programmed in my spell check, for example, if I type 'Tj' I have the auto correct dictionary set to type 'Thanks, Judi' and other more elaborate settings. By blocking this custom dictionary from my system it is causing a great deal of trouble.
Why do you keep making changes without approaching the actual USERS. And why do you force this change at your convenience. I'm working on a very time sensitive project, now in the middle of the project I was forced to make this change, without any notice! It couldn't be at a more inconvenient time!
