new Outlook - change mail spell checker language?

Hi,

I regularly send some emails in English and some in my native language - as most European business people do. In Outlook one language is always set as default spell checker language, but in the old Outlook I could always override this by setting spell checker individually for each message. It took some three clicks, but it was possible. In the new Outlook this option is gone (at least I could not find it) - only thing you can do now is to change default editor spell checking language! This is extremely unfortunate and a huge step back. Please return the option to switch spell checker language when composing the new message. Or even better make it more accessible than in the old Outlook.

    I am experiencing the same issue and was unable to resolve it. Today, I acquired a new computer and decided to attempt it again using the new Outlook. All of a sudden, it works just like it does in the classic Outlook. I'm happy it does but can figure out how or why.

    Hi,

    I typically write in 3 languages, so this means it'll check each word for the three as you explain, meaning each word will have a red line as it's bound to be wrong in at least one of the 3.

    I don't see what the point of this feature is then?

    Anyway, the suggestions it gave were only the English ones (which is set as my priority language), none showed in the two other languages.

    So now, I have to first write my message in another application such as Word to then copy / paste it into my email. C'mon, we're 2025, no?

    My default spellchecking language is Polish but I often write in English or German. To switch the spellchecker to the other language I close the draft and re-open it - it seems to cause the spellchecker to detect the different language and work properly.

    Of course this is only a workaround and it's infuriating that Microsoft is not able to fix such a basic issue in one of their most used (and paid for) applications...

    Once the languages have been selected in the Manage spellcheck languages, then the spellchecker will automatically use all the selected languages to spellcheck your email. It will give you suggestions in multiple languages.

    I am aware this is an old ticket, but the fact I am writing here also shows that there are still problems.

    In my case, as other people have said, Outlook will only spellcheck for the top language.

    Every time I write an email in another language, I need to open the settings and change the top language.

    Since your solution appears to work for some users, is there something I can do to make Outlook "refresh" (or something) and it uses all 3 languages?
