new Outlook - change mail spell checker language?

Hi,

I regularly send some emails in English and some in my native language - as most European business people do. In Outlook one language is always set as default spell checker language, but in the old Outlook I could always override this by setting spell checker individually for each message. It took some three clicks, but it was possible. In the new Outlook this option is gone (at least I could not find it) - only thing you can do now is to change default editor spell checking language! This is extremely unfortunate and a huge step back. Please return the option to switch spell checker language when composing the new message. Or even better make it more accessible than in the old Outlook.

    I couldn't agree more - also working in a bilingual environment (60% English, 40% Hungarian) I consider myself pretty literate in both languages however always ending up my full mail being marked with red. And that itself wouldn't frustrate me too much but resulting in not recognizing any mistyped words (that happens obviously every now and then); now THAT drives me absolutely nuts.

    And yes, we're mid-2025, not the good ol' '80s.

    C'mon MS, get your stuff together already.

    My outlook has suddenly started spell checking for German

    Its insane, the whole screen lights up red.. cant seem to find a fix

    Frankly, I don't care which department does what at Microsoft. We are in a quarter through the 21st Century but we still cannot switch the proofing language of Outlook. This feature used to be available in the past, so we are obviously going backwards.

    Thsi works but it is far to time consuming comparing it to old Outlook and other MS office products

    140 words and 873 characters [including space] worth of an excuse to a significant issue.
    For me as well work in bilingual environment is curial and either copying the email contents to a word document or switching to a different default language is unconceivable in modern AI possibilities.

    Looking forward to renewal of renewal of previous functionality regarding Proofing language.
