Outlook Mac, how to move mail/cal/people icons from side back to bottom

I spoke too soon! It allowed me to move the calendar, mailbox etc to the bottom, which is great. But in doing so, i also lost the ability to see how many emails are in my inbox - i find this feature more important so have had to revert back

You should still be able to flip through your open windows with CMD-TAB. Once you're in a tabbed application like Chrome you can then CTRL-TAB through the open tabs within the app.

One thing I like to do is click the green dot in the upper left corner to make Outlook full screen. Now use THREE fingers on your trackpad or magic mouse to swipe left and right. You'll bring in Outlook or swipe it out and back to your other apps, no more looking for it or doing CMD-TAB to find it. You'll even find that you can swipe to a clean new desktop and start using some other apps there. Swipe back to your other desktop or Outlook easily the same way.

Other fun mac tricks: Swipe three fingers straight up on your trackpad and see all your open windows at once! That's called Mission Control. Hover over each small window and Mac will tell you the name of the document, XL, PPT etc. Go to Apple Icon / System Settings / Trackpad / More Gestures to see a bunch of other things you can do. My favorite is CMD-spacebar which opens Spotlight Search. Start typing the name of a document etc. and Mac will try to find it on your machine or give you other searching options.

Are you saying you can't see a total email count or an unread count?

I don't ever remember seeing a total count in the sidebar but the unread count still appears even when I move the icons back to the bottom.

You may have to "grab" the edge of the sidebar and open it up a little bit to see the unread count again.

aware we're heading into a side bar here :) - on Windows you can alt+tab through all open windows regardless of applciation - so if I wanted to get to that email message I'd just keep hitting alt+tab until it popped up no matter which application I was in. That's what I liked - simple and fast. One command repeated.

In Mac cmd&tab only allows to flick between applications so you have cmd+tab to get to the right application and then stop (before you go to far) & change command to flick between the open windows in that application. It's slower - especially when you're working on different keyboard layouts at home and in the office. (I've even resorted to right clicking on each open application in the Dock and then selecting the relevant window - again much slower - but your cmd+number does help).

Hi there, I mean with the new version of Outlook, there is no longer a general inbox email count at the bottom of the pane. In the old Outlook, you could always see how many emails were in your main inbox (read or unread) currently this is not a feature in the new version, however, if you hover over the 'Inbox' folder, it shows how many emails are there.

When I tried the tip to move calendar and inbox to the bottom of the screen, it worked. BUT it removed the feature of allowing you to hover over the inbox and see email count, so I reverted back.
