I, and 3 colleagues, are all on the same version of Outlook for Mac (16.71.2).
For two of us the icons for Mail, Calendar, and People are on the side. The 3rd person has them (where I always used to find them) at the bottom.
I have searched everywhere but cannot figure out how to get them to the bottom again.
Thoughts??

New update resolves this issue.
After updating go to Help -> Clear Application Data -> Check Experimental features and clear.
yep - I now have that option and it's worked - thank you! Did have to force quite Outlook, but was ok after restart.
But once again if you quit and start its reverting back to the new side panel settings,
Does it mean we need to clear Application data every time before we quit ???
Horrible, horrible, horrible change. Killed the user experience and reverting to the OLD OUTLOOK is not a fix. What happened?
It worked. However, to do this every time I close and open the application = worst user experience ever! Certainly hope that someone is listening.
My IT department pays Microsoft for probably over 5,000 user licenses, and they tell me they cannot log a ticket to Microsoft to inquire about fixing something like this. So I am left to comment here with all the other frustrated folks. Please fix this! I was able to move the icons back to the bottom using the clear data fix, but then one day they returned to the wrong place.
The other thing that has frustrated me for years on end, is why Mail and Calendar are not separate applications. I should be able to task switch to Mail or Calendar, but instead I have to task switch to Outlook, then view the screen to see if I was last in my Calendar or last in my Mail, and then find those wandering icons, and click the one I need to switch to. It's a pain.
