Outlook Mac, how to move mail/cal/people icons from side back to bottom

I, and 3 colleagues, are all on the same version of Outlook for Mac (16.71.2).

For two of us the icons for Mail, Calendar, and People are on the side. The 3rd person has them (where I always used to find them) at the bottom.

I have searched everywhere but cannot figure out how to get them to the bottom again.

Thoughts??

    Is this another one of those, "Someone at MS thought this was better, and you no longer get an option to move it" type scenarios?

    Reverting to the "Legacy Outlook" is a horrible fix. It's actually not a fix. Nothing was broken before. With the newest update, the buttons moved and there is no way to get them back. Please have the team release a patch so we can at least have a choice of placement.

    +1 - I like the new view, but would rather have the icons back at the bottom, not the side - definitely don't want to revert back to the super-icon heavy 'old' Outlook UI...

    I am having the same issue since the recent Profiles update in the last few days. This extra sidebar is taking up valuable reading space on a laptop screen!

    Exactly. I am already using 'New Outlook' but the icons swapped from bottom left to the side and it doesn't seem to be user-configurable. I don't actually want to revert the view just move those short cuts back to where they were. Guess I will just have to get used to them.

    I think what will resolve this issue for you is found in the "Outlook" Menu at the top.

    You'll probably find that the users not seeing the shortcuts where they were once located will have "New Outlook" checked in the menu.

    Remove that check/selection. Outlook will close and re-open instantly and your view should be restored.
