I have searched and found a few others with this problem and I could not find any solution that worked for me.

With Microsoft 365 personal can you access the calendar using the Outlook Android app? When I try to login to add my account I receive this error.

An error occurred during authentication. Please try again later.

Tried using the app to contact support, but just get a spinning blue circle saying contacting to support.

Tried clearing cache, deleting Outlook and reinstalling different WiFi and mobile data, changing password and I keep receiving the error.

I can login using other apps and with the browser. Outlook is the only problem.

    How are you setting it up? Are you using Exchange?

    When you set up the Exchange account in the Outlook app do the following:

    Domain: leave this field blank

    Username: type in your whole email address

    Sadly I'm not using Exchange. It is a Yahoo account. The account is recognised when I select, "ADD ACCOUNT", as it shows at the top of the page as "Account Selected". However it then gives the authentication error when trying to get to the next stage. It's all very frustrating.

    Back in July 2023 I posted that at last Outlook for Android somehow got past the authentication error stage for me and I was delighted! Sadly my wife has recently got a Xiaomi 14 phone and her Sky Yahoo email address is not being accepted on the Outlook for Android app! She is getting exactly the same problem that I did a year ago. Surely someone at Microsoft will try and stop this absolutely disgraceful situation? Anyway, like me last year, she has started using the Yahoo email app until Outlook for Android becomes fit for purpose. Like me every now and again she will have to try the Outlook app and see if she can finally get it working. Hopefully it will be quicker than the 3 months it took me to get it working last year!

    No luck...

    I have a Gmail account, also created an alias outlook account (as someone previously suggested) they all work but I still get the error when setting up my exchange account

    It did pick up on the incorrect password

    I have tried leaving the domain blank and putting my email address in the username

    make sure that a user's email address and UPN matched in AD.
