Anytime, for several months now, I hit reply to an email that has an emoji within it, Outlook for Mac completely freezes up for a long time. I've created multiple support sessions within Outlook trying to resolve this. They don't understand the issue. Anyone here have any insight? I am on a 2019 iMac running Ventura 13.0. Outlook version is 16.66.1 (22101101). This is a business PC with an Exchange email account on it.

    Hi,

I have the same problem for month on end now and it is super annoying!!! I have made new user profiles, redownloaded all the office apps a couple oftimes etc. It is not a problem in the web app but only on the Mac App. It also occurs when others have used smiley in their emails and it is super annoying to have my Outlook freeze multiple times a day to then be forced to quit and restart.

Mircosoft please fix this asap - it can't be that an email app freezes over something so stupid.

Hadn't seen wide reports of it, but have one person I support who has reported it. What worked for a while was switching to the legacy/old interface and composing/replying to an email and inserting an emoji. You could see a 'pause' happen but it worked. And subsequent tests, the emoji call up worked fine (no delay). Switched back to the new interface and the problem was fixed as well.

I was just researching the problem again and found this thread because the problem happened again, so hoping the same 'fix' as before works.

This person is on macOS Ventura as well.

Same issue here for quite some time. The only "fix" is to revert back to the old UI, which I don't want to use. Super frustrating.

Same problem here and for months and months. Today I tried a complete reinstall of my entire computer because of this, and lost a day of work. MS should be liable for the time lost from all paid customers using their extremely weak software.

    Class action!!

New update, 16.71.2 still not working. Is anyone even aware about the problem or working on fixing it?
