Today my desktop Outlook application was updated and a new "App Bar" was moved to the left of the screen, previously it was located under my folders list with small icons and took up zero screen real estate, not so anymore.
Now it appears as a full screen height column with medium sized icons to the left of Outlook and it takes up way too much screen real estate, on my screen only about 15% of it can be even used with "app" icons pinned to it, the rest is just grey wasted space that takes away from the main job of Outlook reading/writing emails.
Is there a way to move this app bar, remove it, or at least minimise it to somewhere that doesn't use up so much space.
What's the reason for Microsoft to try and replicate a poor version of the Windows Start Menu within Outlook, one that's only limited to 3 Microsoft apps, I don't get this and would really like Microsoft to stop messing with UI, Windows 11 taskbar ahem.

I went to:
File>Options>Advanced>Checkbox titled "Show Apps in Outlook"
After you uncheck and then click "OK" outlook will require a restart to make the change. After restart the "Apps Bar" returns to the pervious location below the folders.
Ik zat nog even te kijken in de instellingen bij Outlook in Office 365. Daar staat bij mij "apps weergeven in outlook" aangevinkt. Misschien helpt het als je dat vinkje bij jou weghaalt. Gen idee ik heb het nog niet geprobeerd.

Nu begrijp ik wat je bedoelt. Ik heb geen antwoord op je vraag. Ik vind het ook minder storend, want ik gebruik normaal gesproken Outlook uit Office 365. De webversie gebruik in alleen om met OneDrive te schakelen van het ene account naar het andere. Dat gebeurt echter niet zo vaak. Ik hoop voor jou dat er wel iemand met een oplossing is.

I'm asking about is there a way to remove the Apps column from Outlook on the Web? I have about the same issues that Icur_wk has regarding loss of space and/or space that I would like to use to read the folders I have.
The apps column that is being talked about is to the left of the folders section. I have not found a way to remove it from Outlook on the Web.
btw, Outlook on the Web is what a lot of people call the Outlook.com email via the internet. No Office program. Just a browser and Outlook.com as the address.
I to am trying to get more space on the webpage that is similar to the Office Outlook app. aka, Office 365.
I have that too but I don't use it.
