Outlook keep resetting ribbon back to default after changes

Just want to say that this reply worked and kept me sane. It should be pinned as "the" solution. I recently had to go back in and make changes to the ribbon as MS Outlook updated and the "Collaborate" tab re-appeared and once again made reference to this solution. FYI - I'm on a company computer with restricted admin rights and still had access to these files and making them read only. Thanks again.

I have exported my ribbon configurations and reinstall them after MSoft installs what it wants to install. I have to do this perhaps once a month, maybe more frequently. Hard to say. Incredibly annoying. My fear is that MSoft's goal is to make the client and browser versions of Outlook have the same user interface....and in the process will wreck the client. I clicked on the "Try the new Outlook" button in the client, was disgusted with the result, and reverted back to (I guess we can call it) "Old Outlook." I've read on the web that for some it was difficult or impossible to switch back to "Old" so proceed with caution on that one.....

No, I'm convinced that is not a bug but rather just another "feature" designed push users into using MS apps and addons that they don't want and have already deleted on their ribbon. The constant ribbon reshuffling was most likely a marketing, not technical, decision.

I have already given up trying to find a fix or a workaround that works correctly all the time.

My Outlook 365 Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2405 Build 16.0.17628.20006) 64-bit / Session ID: 78469F11-6493-47B8-AEDF-77034691DE71, are recently behaving silly. I modify the RIBBON in Outlook main tab, or ribbon for email or for contact to SUIT my purpose. It stays so for a while, 5 min or 2 days, not possible to say as it change when ever the H... it want back to default.

I have EXP{ORTED 3 different ribbions in a location on my Cdrive, 1 for OUtlook main, 1 for Email and 1 for contacts, When even it changes, i IMPORT the exported setting and it works well for as i said, 5 minutes or 2 days. ALL three are same same, changes to default on their OWN.

Please send a FIX for this issus as it is increasingly ANNOYING.

Not sure if this will help others, but my Outlook would keep bringing Quick Steps back.

After I added this entry to the registry, my Ribbon changes stuck.

I created the registy entry the day it was posted, since then MY RIBBON HAS NOT CHANGED AT ALL! Admittedly this is only 5 days, certainly not long enough to be certain, but recently my ribbons were changing almsot daily.
