How to permanently show Folder pane

Suddenly today my folder pane is hidden by default. I have not changed any settings. I can go to View>Layout>Folder pane>Show and it will pop up but it will disappear if I click anywhere but the folder pane. I need to see the folder pane all the time. How can I change this? (And why did it change itself?)

Just under home, 3 horizontal bars, left of new mail.

I thought selecting "show" pane would solve it, but it didn't. Did not find this answer anywhere.

** Here's the deal. I finally figured it out. Under the HOME tab, there is a button "Toggle Left Pane" - click on it and the folder pane will stay open.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Wanda....this has been driving me mad, since I use my folders all the time!

    Me too.

Great to know about the three bars, but I want folders to display AND STAY DISPLAYED, in browser based Outlook Live, like it does in my desktop app. I use the purchased version of Office (not 365).

Does anyone have any idea how to toggle the Folder Pane so it displays all the time, along with the Reading Pane? It does for me in Firefox, but not in Edge.

It seems like in Edge, you can either have one of the Folder or Reading Pane options selected (under View/Layout) but not both.

I suppose I'll just use Firefox, and in Edge (which I'll use when Firefox is unstable), I'll set it to display Folder and not Reading Pane.

    Thanks community.

PS I changed Edge's Zoom view setting from 100% to 90%, and it Folder and Reading panes now display permanently, even when I log out and log in again.

This could be as I'm working on a compact HP laptop.
