How to permanently show Folder pane

Suddenly today my folder pane is hidden by default. I have not changed any settings. I can go to View>Layout>Folder pane>Show and it will pop up but it will disappear if I click anywhere but the folder pane. I need to see the folder pane all the time. How can I change this? (And why did it change itself?)

Try clicking the “Expand the folder pane” button then click the pin icon. Try going to the view tab > Expand the Folder Pane icon > Make sure “Normal” is selected. Try going to the view tab > Expand the Folder Pane icon > Make sure “Normal” is selected. That's what he has to go to get the folder pane back.

Changing the zoom to 90 worked for me too..... But we shouldn't have too. There should be an option to always show the folder/navigation pane.
