How to permanently show Folder pane

Suddenly today my folder pane is hidden by default. I have not changed any settings. I can go to View>Layout>Folder pane>Show and it will pop up but it will disappear if I click anywhere but the folder pane. I need to see the folder pane all the time. How can I change this? (And why did it change itself?)

Try clearing your cache and cookies. I found another thread that reminded me to do that, I did it, and found that it worked. So far it has not reverted back....

Here's hoping they leave things alone for a few weeks, or months.

    Or years.

I thought selecting "show" pane would solve it, but it didn't. Did not find this answer anywhere.

** Here's the deal. I finally figured it out. Under the HOME tab, there is a button "Toggle Left Pane" - click on it and the folder pane will stay open.

    Hope this helps.

I do not see any button saying "Toggle Left Pane" on the Home tab!
Searched for that exact thing in the help button - no finds for the search.
You have some magic form of Outlook.....

To be clear, are you using the Outlook app, or Outlook on the web via a browser like Firefox or Safari?

I use Outlook on the web (don't like the app) and when I cleared my cache and cookies the problem was solved.

They reorganized the layout for no good reason, making it harder to figure out where to change various settings.

So, on the web, you go to the top left menu options and click on "View". Then right underneath are a list of menu options: you click on "Layout", and the option to show or hide the folder pane is there.

After I cleared the cache the folder pane stayed open after I closed an reopened the browser.

Anyway, hope that helps. If you're using the app, good luck.
