How to permanently show Folder pane

Suddenly today my folder pane is hidden by default. I have not changed any settings. I can go to View>Layout>Folder pane>Show and it will pop up but it will disappear if I click anywhere but the folder pane. I need to see the folder pane all the time. How can I change this? (And why did it change itself?)

    This may not be relevant to you, but this problem only happens on my laptop.

    As mentioned above, I fixed it for me by changing my laptop browser's view zoom level to 90%, or less (you might need to use a different zoom level to me), and it can now continue to display the folder list after I reveal it via the three little horizontal lines in the top left.

    Once I swapped to 90% the folder list appeared. I could then change back to 100% and it stayed in place! Go figure :-)

    Another irritating, unexpected, random, pointless change in how outlook works. I don't expect a fix anytime soon. If it weren't for inertia, I'd use a different email client.

    we need a fix for this IMMEDIATELY. It is extremely annoying and not sure why it would ever DEFAULT to hidden...

    I find no "toggle" button under the Home tab. In fact, nothing appears under the Home tab.

    there isn't a button under the home tab to toggle left pane. Under view, layout, I have only one option which is "show folder pane" It pops up but it doesn't stay. It disappears right away. my folder pane used be permanent but it is gone.
