Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
The link to Code2 and disabling the Roaming Signature "feature" is the solution. Unfortunately, my company IT Dept has locked down the computers so I cannot change the "roaming signature" settings and they do not seem to want to make the changes for reasons unexplained. Fortunately I have discovered an easy fix/work-around:
- copy your existing signature(s),
- go into the Signatures function and create a new signature by pasting the text from the old signature text
- save the new signature with a slightly different name so you can tell it apart from the original.
- Check your list of signatures - you will now see both the original and the new signature with a slightly different name.
- Delete the old signature.
You will now have a listing of the new signatures which you can edit.
It is not the most convenient workaround, it is a little time-consuming, because you have to follow the process to copy/paste and create a new signature for each and every signature, but at least now you have editable signatures.
Notes: example of names: "Start Payment" and "Start Payment1." After I verify Start Payment1 works and is editable, I just delete the original Start Payment. To save time I copied the original signatures from my sent email folder. I also have lots of signatures so I copy/pasted them into a Word doc open on my 2nd screen which I then pasted into each new signature. YMMV.
