how to update recurring meeting in Outlook without losing history?

I have recurring client appointments, which I edit if eg. there is a cancellation or a no-show. I need to keep this history.

If I want to reschedule Client X to a different time going forward, then my only option appears to be changing the end date of the recurring series and starting a new one. But that removes all changes made to earlier occurrences.

The only other "solution" seems to be downloading a csv, and uploading it again - what a palaver. Surely there must be an easier way to edit "all occurrences from this point onwards" as you can in the Google calendar?

I can see that this issue has been raised as far back as 2016 - what do we have to do to get it on the wishlist for the next upgrade to Outlook?

Come on Microsoft - Google can do this, so why can't you?

    Yeah, no, don't do that - you will definitely lose your history.

    We've established that if you make changes in the Outlook web version (not the desktop one), you have the options of editing just the current event, this event and following ones, or all events in the series. This keeps your history of changes, and will sync to your desktop version with history intact.

    One day Microsoft will see fit to make these options available in the desktop version as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

    I now have my Outlook calendar open as a web tab and do all my bookings there. The rest of Outlook I use on my desktop version.

    Hi all,

    Unfortunately, I have adjusted a recurring meeting already, losing all the notes I had taken on previous ones from the last year. Have been struggling to 'undo' or 'reset' my calendar to make my actions undone. Is there anyone to fix this, my 'undo' button in outlook calendar is greyed-out.

    Unfortunately I don't think you can undo this. Once the history is lost, it's lost.

    The best you can do is make sure it doesn't happen again. Do all your calendar editing in the web version, not the desktop version. It has the capability to make edits of "this event and all subsequent events", which the desktop version does not.

    I now keep my Outlook calendar as one of my home tabs in Chrome and do the rest of my Outlook work in the desktop version.

    HI!

    I can only end all future calendar invites without cancelling/changing previous invites through the web version of outlook on chrome. Granted this is my work email, so I am unaware if this works for person outlook accounts. I was able to right click on the calendar invite; click 'edit' and select 'this and all following events' without erasing the previous history of this calendar invite.

    Sorry, but yours was a useless answer. Actually, more than useless -- your answer is damaging.

    The questioner EXPLICITLY wanted to save history, and your so-called NON-solution deletes all history.

    Please READ questions and do not lead people astray like this -- your reply is the exact OPPOSITE of what the questioner has asked.
