how to update recurring meeting in Outlook without losing history?

I have recurring client appointments, which I edit if eg. there is a cancellation or a no-show. I need to keep this history.

If I want to reschedule Client X to a different time going forward, then my only option appears to be changing the end date of the recurring series and starting a new one. But that removes all changes made to earlier occurrences.

The only other "solution" seems to be downloading a csv, and uploading it again - what a palaver. Surely there must be an easier way to edit "all occurrences from this point onwards" as you can in the Google calendar?

I can see that this issue has been raised as far back as 2016 - what do we have to do to get it on the wishlist for the next upgrade to Outlook?

Come on Microsoft - Google can do this, so why can't you?

Ri

(Also curious why Outlook doesn't appear under the list of MS 365 & Office apps ??)

Exactly the point. Some companies may block web version for whatever reason. Not porting this to the desktop is not only huge inconvenience but also not a workaround for companied that do not allow web version.

This unfortunately does not work if you are a delegate on someone's calendar...

This is why Microsoft is loosing ground / users - they have stopped listening to their Users / Customers - when their proposed solutions don't work they simply refrain from continuing the conversation(s). Don't wait for a "we will look into it and get back to you..." - they think they have a perfect product that requires no development. Would be as simple as creating an option to select "The entire series from this point onwards" but hey, who are we to complain - we are just the Users not the shareholder!

Why can't we have the same functionality in both web and desktop versions.

I can't get my head round the utter stupidity of

    a) not having an option when changing meeting recurrence to apply only to 'this point forward'

    b) in absence of the above, not retaining past meetings and their metadata as the default

Is there anyone on the planet who needs to change a recurring meeting and thinks it's useful to rip up the entire history of past meetings, other than Microsoft employees?

I can see there are options in this stream which allow retention of meeting history with a 100 mouse clicks, or exporting/importing schedules via a CSV - both are ridiculous workarounds. Why isn't this just the default, why is behaviour different between browser & app, etc?
