Where is the send and receive button in outlook (New Outlook for Windows)

Wow, really? Did I say I wanted to access my mail while offline? That may have been true in the dial-up days, but that shipped sailed over 20 years ago. We want the mail to be available in outlook as soon as it's on the server. I shouldn't see mail on my phone, then have to wait for however long until Outlook decides to retrieve it. We want a send/receive or a sync now button. Windows mail has it, why doesn't outlook? This has absolutely nothing to do with being online or offline. Typical for Microsoft... one step forward and two steps back.

I know how it works. Did you read my explanation as to why I want the send/receive? Your suggestion of unplugging from the internet to delay sending would be hugely cumbersome. What if i need internet for other things?

Mine came up today with New instead of Pre.... but it is still a beta / preview build (even though it says "production" in the version).

Right now the difference between Outlook on the web and new Outlook is the app framework - it is still Outlook on the web and works just like Outlook on the web - mail is not stored offline, so you don't need a send / receive button. Disconnect from the internet and you won't have mail.

I've already left feedback for this and the many other issues we're faced with as we're slowly forced to use Outlook. The concerning thing is that the icon no longer says "pre." It now says "new," which tells me it's now a production build. Until, I can force a sync, I will just use Gmail for all of my email. They don't have a problem syncing with Yahoo. Chrome or Edge , Google Maps or Bing, and now Gmail or Outlook? I see a disturbing pattern here, and MS should as well.

The type of account will decide how often new e-mail is retrieved from the server, as I am sure you already know. Exchange accounts are synchronized once per minute, according to https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/sync-basics-what-you-can-and-cannot-sync-5537d587-4930-4ac2-b044-3568509b1294.
