Using older versions of Outlook for Mac for personal email and calendar
So what fixed it for me, is something someone suggested several pages ago. I dragged the main disk icon to the Privacy tab in spotlight, closed the preferences window, opened it again and then removed the disk from there. After that it started to index and within about 30 mins to an hour I was getting SOME search responses and the next morning it was working perfectly.
I had previously tried just moving the profile folder, but that did not work. I can only guess that there are files somewhere else in the disk that needed indexing.
So the trick, for me, was to have spotlight reindex the whole disk.
And now I have search results in Outlook in Mac Monterey
I'd be really grateful for your help.
You say:
- I dragged the main disk icon (what's that? where?)
- to the Privacy tab in spotlight (what's that? where?),
- closed the preferences window, opened it again and then removed the disk from there (I don't understand, "removed the disk"? please could you help me on this one).
I am SO angry. I spend a fortune on a new macbook with Monterey 12.3, I pay for Outlook for Mac 16.63, and I expect these things to work. I'm a normal, working, intelligent person but not a tekkie. Why should I have to waste my valuable time resolving these issue?
So grateful for an idiots guide on how to resolve this one. I really need to be able to search in Outlook to find emails quickly.
Thanks a million!!!
