I agree as well. It's driving me crazy not to see the total number of emails in my inbox.
Thanks!

In the latest update of Outlook for Mac I can no longer see a count of the number of emails in my inbox. Is there a way to get it back?

I am back to the old version mostly because of this number not being displayed.
Without the "total count" of e-mails I cannot use the "new Outlook". It is a critical piece of information all day. How else do you know where you stand in managing your inbox?
I miss the inbox count as well. A work-around for now is to "Select All" and the display box on the right will tell you how many conversations are selected.
I had to switch back to the classic version over this issue last October and was checking back now to see if it has been fixed. Agree that it's a pretty important function to have forgotten.
