Inbox Email Count in New Outlook for Mac

In the latest update of Outlook for Mac I can no longer see a count of the number of emails in my inbox.  Is there a way to get it back?

    Yes, please add this to New Outlook. I'm not going to use this version until Microsoft adds the total message count back.

    I agree I like the new UI, but I have found that the search feature in the old Outlook no longer works correctly. So I'm stuck with the new UI if I want to search all my folders, and have to switch back to see the message counts. Please add this feature to the new version.

    I would love to stay on old Outlook, but for me, the upgrade to Monterey b0rked my email search, which only works with 'new' outlook. So inbox count vs. useful search. How can MS make it this bad?

    If you are stuck with the New Outlook, the following work-around seems to work: Suppose you want to know the total number of emails in your Inbox. Then with the cursor on the area, select ALL mails in inbox, then Drag ALL to the left sidebar and then back again (but don't actually drop them). During this maneuver, a number showing the total number of emails you are moving back-and-forth will appear for a second. (Alternatively, create a temporary mailbox to move to temporarily for the purpose of seeing that number, then move them back. Name the mailbox something like [0 a temp box] so it will be at the top for convenience.)

    Not a real solution, but it's better than the pain of not knowing how many more emails you still have in your inbox.
