Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
no this does not work. there is a solution in this thread that includes saving the file as ics and then importing back into your calendar - that works.

Hello,
I am having issues with one of the meeting invites I own. We host a full-team meeting for ~300 people on my team, and I am the Outlook owner of this meeting. Somehow, this meeting was deleted off my calendar, but not from others' calendars on my team. I got it back from my sent/deleted folders, however, now I cannot edit the invite. There are wrong dates reflected in the series and I need to either update it, or delete the series for my team altogether, but I am not able to.
With 300 on the team, I am not able to just blast out an email and tell them to disregard the other thread - it always results in confusion and frustration with that many people.
Any thoughts?

This approach worked for me.
It only worked when using another Desktop Outlook application of an attendee.
You need to go through File -> Import to add the ICS file, you cannot double click it from your file explorer or it will try to open as an invite, where you will then be told "you don't have to reply to your own meeting".

Hi, Any advice when - in the same situation - the forwarded meeting series invite cannot be saved as ics? I can save this meeting invite as 'Text Only'; "Outlook Template'; 'Outlook message format' ; 'outlook message format- unicode'; 'HTML' and 'MHT files' but not Outlook invite/ .ics - so can't use the fix that worked for everyone here :(
Hello,
We have an issue where the meeting organiser cancelled the meeting and it disappeared from their calendar, however, the room still shows as booked by them.
We tried deleting it from the room calendar but it just says that the meeting is already deleted, yet the room still shows as booked, and it won't allow us to book anything else in that room during that time.
This is a meeting occurrence, which means that it is causing major disruption as we are unable to book that room during that time.
This seems to be a glitch. We tried all troubleshooting steps that we could find online but none of them have worked.
