Meeting Owner - Series Deleted from my Calendar, but not Other Calendars

Hello,

I am having issues with one of the meeting invites I own. We host a full-team meeting for ~300 people on my team, and I am the Outlook owner of this meeting. Somehow, this meeting was deleted off my calendar, but not from others' calendars on my team. I got it back from my sent/deleted folders, however, now I cannot edit the invite. There are wrong dates reflected in the series and I need to either update it, or delete the series for my team altogether, but I am not able to.

With 300 on the team, I am not able to just blast out an email and tell them to disregard the other thread - it always results in confusion and frustration with that many people.

Any thoughts?

    This exact same issue has happened with me.
    I have no way to reinstate the meeting to send out a cancellation.
    This will create tremendous amounts of confusion if I send out a new meeting request....

    Brittany,

    I saw these instructions shared to an internal user that had this issue. Please see if these might help in your case.

    1. Have a recipient send you the missing item as ICS. If this is a recurring item, then make sure that the person sending the ICS to you is sending this for “Entire Series”. There are 2 ways they could do this:
      1. Open the Calendar item and use FWD as ICS, and send to organizer.
      2. Open the Calendar item and use File -> Save As and attach this ICS file to a mail item and send to organizer.
    2. Organizer should save the ICS file to the machine they are using Outlook from so we can Send Cancellation using the ICS.
    3. Open the ICS file in notepad (or some Editor) so we can make a modification. Change the following text:
      1. METHOD:REQUEST to METHOD:PUBLISH
      2. Save the modified ICS file.
    4. Double click on the ICS file so it will now open in Outlook
      At this point it should have a Cancelation button and you can use that to send it out.

    If you’d like to recover the meeting instead of cancelling, you’ll need to confirm that the Calendar is using MAPI. This can be done by right clicking the Calendar in the left navigation pane and selecting properties, and checking if Type contains (MAPI) or (REST). If MAPI is being used, the meeting can be saved to the calendar.

    Same issue with one my user. He created and sent meeting invite to 25+ users. He cancelled the meeting, but users did not receive cancellation notice. The meeting shows active in all meeting recipients.

    Sydney thanks for starting this thread. I’m having the same issue, however this is not a meeting series and a single invite only.

    It never sent a cancellation note to my 250 + attendees how ever it doesn’t consider me an organiser anymore.

    The meeting still shows up in others calendars within the organisation.

    I somehow managed to get it on the calendar using the pull to calendar option from the deleted items list and it showed up.

    My question to you is were you and the other participants within your org as well as outside your org be able to log in and have a successful meeting?
