Hello,
I am having issues with one of the meeting invites I own. We host a full-team meeting for ~300 people on my team, and I am the Outlook owner of this meeting. Somehow, this meeting was deleted off my calendar, but not from others' calendars on my team. I got it back from my sent/deleted folders, however, now I cannot edit the invite. There are wrong dates reflected in the series and I need to either update it, or delete the series for my team altogether, but I am not able to.
With 300 on the team, I am not able to just blast out an email and tell them to disregard the other thread - it always results in confusion and frustration with that many people.
Any thoughts?

I know one thing that causes it. I just got the error that there were conflicting changes made to a meeting. This happened before and I opted to only keep the 1. This caused the series to get deleted from my calendar. It just happened to me again and I opted to keep all copies. This prevented the series from getting deleted.

My peers that cover calendar are investigating another root cause for this issue and the Known Issue has been set to Investigating, Meeting missing from organizer’s calendar - Microsoft Support. We think the original service fix addressed a lot of the original reports but there is still a secondary issue. If you have any super important meeting to update it might be good to do that from OWA or New Outlook until this second bug gets fixed.
It's good to know it's finally been fixed. Unfortunately, I did not receive the patch before the meeting I created on 8/19 vanished, for me only, making me look bad in front of the customer and 32 people from various organizations. I look forward to this never happening again.

A service fix for a bug that caused the organizers copy of the meeting to get deleted has been fixed in the service as of service build 15.20.7844.000. This build is now at all of the standard production tenants as of mid-August 2024. The only tenants that are not yet fixed for ITAR GCC/GCCH/DOD and those tenant types and should have the fix in the next couple weeks.
My peer that works on calendar says that it is possible for meetings created before the fix could still hit the bug. New meetings created today should not hit that bug. From tenants that were escalated with the bug so far, the feedback is good, and the fix is working. It's possible there is another bug, so we need to keep investigating. If you see this issue again, please ask your tenant admin to open a support ticket.
This is not true. I am writing this two years after the original post and Outlook still has this problem. I schedule large meetings and if I accidentally delete one from my calendar, it does not get cancelled for others. Microsoft, please fix this.
