in the "Type here to search" box on the Task Bar type > cmd   >choose run as an administrator.. paste the commands into Command Prompt box.

Hit the enter key on the keyboard after pasting each command line.

cd "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun"

and then

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470

UPDATE:

Do nothing, wait.   See:

Microsoft is automatically propagating a fix.....  I am seeing it automatically patch some of my clients i had not fixed yet, that complained earlier..

The problem was created today my one or more Microsoft updates.

Go back a few pages and read the E-mails and you will get it.

I am running Office 2019 and same thing.

Mine is a local/stand alone version of Office 2019 Pro and nothing has worked including uninstalling the updates applied today.

They (the MS Outlook folks) know about this and are apparently have located "the problem" and are working on it.

You did nothing to mess up your system.

This one appears to be 100% on MS.

One would think they thoroughly check things before sending out "broadcast" updates.

I guess one would be wrong.

I think the best thing to do is wait for the "fix" update.

I suspect that will happen in the next few hours.

    At least I hope so.

I was almost getting caught up on my E-mails.

Now I will be way behind again.

Go to Control Panel  => Uninstall a program ... select your Office installation and click "change" ... repair with online version and it will fix it (it takes some time)
