Outlook opens, then immediately closes

I just tried to update my dell desktop to Office 365, and now when i try to open Outlook, it immediately shuts down. clicking the outlook icon brings up https://outlook.live.com/mail/inbox but i don't want that. I want my traditional outlook. Help?

in the "Type here to search" box on the Task Bar type > cmd   >choose run as an administrator.. paste the commands into Command Prompt box.

Hit the enter key on the keyboard after pasting each command line.

cd "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun"

and then

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470

UPDATE:

Microsoft is automatically propagating a fix.....  I am seeing it automatically patch some of my clients i had not fixed yet, that complained earlier..

    Outlook doesn't open in safe mode, you can not launch it from the command line and uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix it either.

    All of the sudden 2 of my users had this problem today. This also worked for me.

    System conditions: I have Windows 10 Pro/ 64 bits.  I have Microsoft Office 2016 (MO 2016). 

    Problem.  Outlook is shutting down immediately after starting.  I tried starting Outlook on safe mode and this did not work either.

    This started after rebooting my computer.  Other than an AVG Business antivirus update from yesterday, or the day before yesterday, I have not noticed any other changes

    What I have done:  I went to the programs and features and ran the repair for MO 2016.  This did not work.  I then re-install MO 2016.  I am now able to run Outlook on safe mode.  When I try running Outlook normally, it shuts down.  I again open it on safe mode an disabled all the available add-ins.  When re-starting Outlook on normal mode, it keeps shutting down after 2-3 sec of starting up. 

    Any ideas?
