in the "Type here to search" box on the Task Bar type > cmd   >choose run as an administrator.. paste the commands into Command Prompt box.

Hit the enter key on the keyboard after pasting each command line.

cd "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun"

and then

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470

UPDATE:

Do nothing, wait.   See:

Microsoft is automatically propagating a fix.....  I am seeing it automatically patch some of my clients i had not fixed yet, that complained earlier..

    Update from what?

Have you run an inplace office repair?

And if you updated from an earlier office version have you uninstalled that version?

    Hi VCavaseno,

Thanks for reaching us in community!

Per your description, this 'Outlook' you tried to open should be the **Progressive Web App (PWA)**which is installed from your web browser. You can select the Outlook icon, right click it, select Properties, then you can check the detailed information of that application.

To run Outlook desktop client, you can try this way:

    1. Press 'Win' + 'R',
    2. Enter 'Outlook.exe' and press Enter key.

Feel free to let me know if it works.

    Best,

    Shawn

Hi, thanks for responding. i think it was either office 10 or 13. I have not tried to do an inplace repair. Not sure how to do that. I uninstalled whatever Office apps i had. Still no progress.
