How do I remove the Teams meeting link from a calendar invite?!

I purposefully made sure that it was not toggled on. It is for an external meeting so we have to use zoom instead of teams as everyone doesn't have access to teams. When I made an edit to the attendee list it automatically added in a Teams link. I can't remove it and I've searched and searched for a way to remove it. Please help!

Hello Jane,

You can simply click on the Description field and press Ctrl + A to select and then delete Teams meeting link, then use the Zoom meeting Add-ins to insert a link for Zoom meeting and click Send, when the attendees receive the updated meeting invitation email, this meeting will display as a Zoom meeting rather than Teams meeting on their calendar.     Here's the Cleanest Solution I was able to repeat and confirm working in 2 different tenants.

    Specifically for a recurring meeting from source tenant, migrated to a new tenant, with a new UPN/SMTP domain.

    The Message's organizer and some attendees are migrated, some attendees remain in the source tenant.

    The source tenant is not changing except for Migrated user accounts in the source are stamped with a forwarding address to the new tenant.

    Migrated "Recurring" Teams Meetings are harder to fix. Here's the steps that actually work:

    Steps To Fix a Migrated Recurring Teams Meeting (from an Old Tenant to a New Tenant)

    1 - The Migrated Organizer Deletes the migrated meeting in Desktop Outlook.

    2 - In their Deleted Items folder, Open the deleted meeting.

    3 - On the message's menu ribbon, next to the Teams “Meeting Options”, select “Don’t Host Online”.

             (This removes the Old Teams Meeting).

    4 - Add a New Teams Meeting in the message. (or Zoom or WebEx meeting, or No meeting).

             The meeting still has the same times and same attendees.

         (The **New Teams Meeting shows, with a new ID for the New Tenant)**(or the other new meeting or no meeting).

    5 - Click File, Move to Folder, Select "Calendar".

             This saves the meeting in your Calendar and sends the update to the attendees.

    This solution no longer appears to work.

    Even when you remove the Teams link and add in a Zoom link, the Teams client still presents this as a Teams client to all participants.

    This is the answer!!! Hopefully, Microsoft doesn't get rid of it with the new outlook that is adopting most web outlook features...

    This web page explains how to remove the Teams link -- you need to use the full outlook app, not Outlook Online, as far as I can see, but it worked for me.

    Wild Wallace - your solution worked in previous versions of Outlook 365 for Windows, but it does not work for the "new" New Outlook for Windows [MS Outlook Version 1.2023.526.100].

    The "Don't Host Online" button that we used to use to truly remove the online meeting, it no longer exists in the New Outlook for Windows.

    Yes, if you create a new meeting, there is a toggle button to toggle on/off the Teams meeting, but for an existing (old) meeting, there is no option to toggle off, and there is no "Don't Host Online" button.

    And, you can no longer customize the ribbon in the calendar view so we cannot just add that Button.

    The New Outlook for Windows is very, very similar to Outlook online, which also lacks the functionality to "Don't Host Online".

    Microsoft should fix this.
