How do I remove the Teams meeting link from a calendar invite?!

I purposefully made sure that it was not toggled on. It is for an external meeting so we have to use zoom instead of teams as everyone doesn't have access to teams. When I made an edit to the attendee list it automatically added in a Teams link. I can't remove it and I've searched and searched for a way to remove it. Please help!

Hello Jane,

You can simply click on the Description field and press Ctrl + A to select and then delete Teams meeting link, then use the Zoom meeting Add-ins to insert a link for Zoom meeting and click Send, when the attendees receive the updated meeting invitation email, this meeting will display as a Zoom meeting rather than Teams meeting on their calendar.     After reading through this six-page thread, adding the "Don't Host Online" button to my ribbon, and then, full of hope and anticipation that this year-long issue would finally be resolved, I clicked the button and got a pop-up saying, "We couldn't remove Teams meeting details". GAHH. Maddening!

    This solution no longer appears to work.

    Even when you remove the Teams link and add in a Zoom link, the Teams client still presents this as a Teams client to all participants.

    Wow, I can't believe MS has not fixed this properly.

    I have tried all recommendations in this thread and a few others, to no success FOR RECURRING MEETINGS.

    Editing an existing series with a Teams meeting, and clicking the "Don't Host Online" button does Nothing.

    Keeping fingers crossed, CRTL-S, then Close... and wait 5, 10, 15 minutes for O365 back end to replicate...

    Nope. Still not resolved.

    I tested a solution and posted the steps below.

    (The meeting Organizer must delete the meeting, then edit it in their Deleted Items folder, for the Whole Teams meeting to be removed...)

    Hello Jane,

    Thanks for your sharing of the picture, I checked this on my side and I do not have the same problem as yours after inserting the Zoom meeting link and send out the updates. Please see:

    Given this situation, please try to send the updated meeting invitation email to your personal account and then sign into your personal account to check the whether it is a Zoom meeting.

    In the meantime, I will send you a test account via Private Message (PM), please sign into the test account and check if there is the same result after remove teams meeting information and insert the Zoom meeting link.

    By the way, for the existing meeting, if it still show as Teams meeting for external attendees, then to workaround it, you may send an email to these external attendees and tell them that they can also join teams meeting without a Teams account and share the following document with them: Join a meeting without a Teams account.
