Family Calendar Missing

Hi.

My family and I have created a Microsoft family group. When clicking the 'plan family events' link in the family home page we are all taken to our personal calendars but there is no 'Family Calendar' under the 'Other Calendars' list. Can someone please suggest a cause of this issue and/or a remedy?

The family calendar has never been visible for any of us and we created the family group approx. 48 hours ago.

Thanks.

Ross

Many thanks David!!!  I presume it's accessible via Win 10 apps (i.e. Mail & Outlook client apps) and also mobile Outlook (Android & iOS)?

(I wonder how long until they take this functionality away too :-) )

    Yes, we're using it on:

    • Windows 10 native calendar app
    • Outlook on mobile (android & iOS)
    • Outlook client on Windows 10
    • Amazon Alexa

    👍👍👍

I plan on doing these same steps but I want to export my Family Group calendar data (year of data) and import it into the new fresh calendar (which I'm sharing). I requested an export of the Family Group calendar 4 days ago but the progress on the outlook portal still says "processing". I'm hoping they will provide me an pst of the calendar.

Have anyone successfully exported the data from their Family Group Calendar?

Hi David - can you explain the steps you completed to set up a new Family Calendar and share with your Family please. Thanks.

Sure - I did these steps online, though they should probably work using Outlook as well:

    • when looking at your Microsoft calendar online, click on Add Calendar
    • click on Create blank calendar
    • give it a name, I called mine "Family"
    • you should then see it listed under "My Calendars"
    • click on the dots to the right of it and select Sharing and permissions
    • add your family User accounts and choose whether to give edit permission or not

Each family member you invite gets an email invitation - if they accept then the calendar is visible to them. It took a day or so for the permissions to replicate fully (there were a few access issues on some devices) but it's now working well
